Title: Advanced data acquisition system. Application to large physics experiments
Lecturers: Mariano Ruiz, Eduardo Barrera and Diego Sanz
This seminar will review implementations of data acquisition systems and different solutions based on the following standards: PCI, PCIe, USB, and PXI/PXIe. It will provide examples of implementation and discuss synchronization of DAQ devices; data acquisition and time-stamping using the IEEE 1588-2008 standard; implementation using intelligent data acquisition cards based on FPGA; and operating system constraints/alternatives: Windows vs. LINUX.
Additionally, the seminar will present the integration of advanced data acquisition system in complex experiment using EPICS middleware and the specific use in the international experiment ITER.
